There is a new home on the block and Podocarp is proud to shout out about the role they played in its transformation. Peak Performance in home energy efficiency is not the only high impact feature of this stunning home. The team were honoured to be part of this incredible build and project, working alongside other trades, creating a harmonious relationship to create this unique and stunning home.

Podocarp doesn't just craft joinery for the sole purpose of utility, it is artistry in it's own form, and it is displayed throughout this home. The joinery plays a huge role in any build, especially a unique architectural home. Its needs to have the aesthetics and up hold principles of the homeowners, but ultimately it is still a home, a busy family home at that, and the spaces need to be useful and practical. We also collaborated with the homeowners to ensure we met both their design brief and ethos on chemical free living throughout the house joinery.

Podocarp were brought on board to completed the full scope of in house joinery and cabinetry, later also completing the outdoor entertaining area. This included the Kitchen & scullery, bespoke Oak bookcase in the lounge, day beds, robes for each room including the Master walk in Robe area, Vanities, powder room, office as well as joinery in the break out roof cavity.

We had quite a strict brief from the clients and we needed to ensure we embraced their philosophy of chemical free living throughout material and finishing choices. This meant frequent collaboration and discussion as well as product sampling. It is often the case, if a material or substance meets one criteria it can often lack in other area's, such as the finish quality or durability, so the project wasn't without it difficulties.

If you are planning a new build or home renovation project. It is imperative you get your joinery company on board from the start. We are use to partnering with architects and builders to work together to create a seamless build. It is not only the financial and aesthetic components that need to be known early on, fixings for cabinetry need to be understood and carried out during the building stage. We have been brought on board far too late on many occasions to find a design for particular joinery is not feasible due to considerations for its application not being carried out or planned during the designing and building phase. Early partnership also allows the building of relationships by all trades and ensures accurate scheduling of work too.
